Subject: Q Group Inc. Signs Agreement with SatCon Power Systems

We are proud to announce that Q Group Inc. has negotiated a Sales Consultation Agreement with SatCon Power Systems. This agreement will not affect your transactions with your local SatCon Sales Representative.

SatCon has purchased Inverpower Controls, Ltd. and offers in addition to conventional diode and thyristor converters, a variety of electrical power conditioning equipment based on their IGBT (Isolated Gate Bipolar Transistor) hardware platform.

SatCon is the most experienced manufacturer of high power converters using IGBT's. This technology has matured over the past ten years and enables converter topologies that eliminate some of the major drawbacks of phase-controlled converters. IGBT based converters yield a near constant power factor and minimum harmonic distortion over their operating range.

The same IGBT technology is also applied in SatCon’s UPS systems to provide seamless transition from grid to off-grid power. This capability coupled with SatCon’s Ultra High Speed MV-Bus Transfer Switches, Static Voltage Regulators, and other novel power electronic solutions; mitigate power quality problems that are detrimental to most automated or continuous processes.
